Dr. Chris Davis found his calling in alcohol and drug withdrawal management after witnessing the profound, positive transformations in his patients' lives and the gratitude they expressed. These experiences opened his eyes to the significant barriers in addiction treatment, sparking his inspiration to develop Clean Slate's innovative remote detox model.
Partnering with Pia Clinton-Tarestad, a successful health economist with over two decades of experience in healthcare service design and improvement, they embarked on Clean Slate’s startup journey. During the initial phases of their work together, a surprising revelation emerged: Pia herself was a candidate for detox. Confronting her own high-functioning addiction, Pia courageously became Clean Slate's first official patient in 2020.
This deeply personal journey further fuelled Chris and Pia's dedication to their mission. They were soon joined by Chris Raine, the visionary behind Hello Sunday Morning, one of the largest online communities dedicated to helping individuals redefine their relationship with alcohol, which took off after his own experience taking a break from alcohol. Raine's expertise in digital healthcare and commitment to improving access to treatment played a crucial role in growing Clean Slate to its current success. Together, they form a passionate team, driven to make detox accessible and effective for all Australians who need it.
Our highly trained clinical team provide the care you need to successfully detox from home.
Our services are available to all privately paying Australian residents. We also have full funding for individuals with Gold Cover across a number of Private Health Insurers, including Bupa, and limited Government funded placements for residents of the Western NSW, Western Queensland, Northern Sydney, and Central & Eastern Sydney Primary Health Networks.
We recognise affordability is one of the main barriers to accessing treatment and offer payment plans to assist, where our monthly charges are typically less than what clients previously spent on alcohol.
